EU-Ukraine summit to be held in Kyiv

The XVII EU-Ukraine summit will be held in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Monday, April 27.

President of Ukraine Poroshenko, President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker plan to discuss support of Ukraine, especially financial support for anti-corruption reforms, and its European integration.

 

Press office of President of Ukraine informs that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko before the summit has held a phone conversation with President of the European Council Donald Tusk:

“Donald Tusk has stated willingness to further make efforts to consolidate positions of the EU in its solidarity with Ukraine. Petro Poroshenko has expressed hope that the EU would provide powerful signals in support of Ukraine and its European integration in the course of the Summit.”

“The Ukrainian President has also emphasized the importance of enhancing relations between Ukraine and the EU in the sphere of security and defense. The parties have agreed to continue coordination in the international arena regarding the opportunity of deploying the mission under the auspices of the EU in order to facilitate peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas.”

After the meeting in the Presidential Administration the participants will give a joint press conference.
