EU ready to allocate more than EUR 1 billion to Ukraine – Barroso

The EU is ready to increase its assistance to Ukraine to overcome the financial and economic difficulties.
President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso announced this after a meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Saturday in Brussels, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
According to Barroso, more than EUR 1 billion can be provided over the next months and the EU is ready to consider further assistance provided the IMF decides to also allocate additional funds by the results of the mission.
He recalled that in March, the EU has already adopted a large-scale package of financial and economic assistance to Ukraine.
