EU and partners will provide Ukraine with more than €25M to restore its energy infrastructure

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine noted on November 1, 2022, that the European Union and other international partners of Ukraine would direct 25.5 million euros through the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine for the most urgent needs in the restoration of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine damaged by Russian missile attacks.

The first meeting of the International Energy Advisory Council was held on November 1, 2022, in Kyiv under the co-chairing of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko and the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.

“Kadri Simson emphasized that international support for Ukraine was gaining special importance on the eve of the winter period. She emphasized that the EU and other international partners, in addition to the necessary equipment that they, together with private energy companies, continue to supply to Ukraine, will provide 25.5 million euros to cover the most urgent needs through the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine,” noted the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

In addition, the European Union plans to allocate 13 million euros to restore the laboratories damaged by Russians at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and another 3.5 million euros through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to support the Ukrainian nuclear industry.
