Energoatom sees revenue from electricity sales rise to UAH 23 bln in 7 months

State-run enterprise Energoatom, which operates all Ukrainian-based nuclear power plants, reported that its revenue from electricity sales in January-July 2016 grew by 4.4% year-over-year (y-o-y) to UAH 22.731 billion.

Wholesale electricity market payments for electricity supplied by Energoatom amounted to UAH 19.932 billion (87.7%) in the reporting period, and underpayments were estimated at UAH 2.8 billion.

The company`s power generation in the period under review decreased to 45.884 billion kW/h from 51.167 billion kW/h during the same period last year. Energoatom`s share in the Ukrainian electricity market was 51.9% in the first seven months of this year.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2015, Energoatom increased its revenue from the sales of electricity by 41.6% y-o-y, to UAH 39.345 billion. In 2014, the company saw a 34.9% increase in its revenue, to UAH 27.794 billion.

Memo. Energoatom is Ukraine`s largest electricity producer, accounting for about 50% of the country`s overall power output. Energoatom is responsible for the safe operation of all nuclear power plants in the country.

Ukraine ranks seventh in the world in terms of the installed capacity of its nuclear power generating units. Energoatom operates four nuclear power plants in Ukraine with 15 power generating units, all with VVER-type reactors. Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, operating six power units with a total capacity of 6 GW, is Europe`s largest.
