The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will support organic production, processing of sunflower and other agricultural business with high added value in Ukraine, Country Director EBRD in Ukraine Sevki Acuner told reporters.
The EBRD Country Director said he had discussed with Paul Polman [CEO of Unilever] the ways how to further invest in the value chains, namely, in the organic production and sunflower seed processing. According to the EBRD Country Director, the Bank and the Ukrainian Agrarian Ministry will jointly develop the necessary concept, while representatives of the food sector will be engaged in discussions.
The EBRD is the largest international financial investor in Ukraine. As of late June 2016, the Bank had a total cumulative commitment of EUR 12 billion in 364 projects throughout the country.
