Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s decree on the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation was published in the official bulletin of the Ukrainian president on August 27, Ukrainian News has reported, citing a source in the Presidential Administration.
Thus, the decree dissolving the Verkhovna Rada has come into force.
Under the law, the election campaign begins the next day after the publication of the decree.
As reported, on August 27, Poroshenko signed a decree dissolving the Ukrainian parliament and scheduling a snap election for October 26.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Central Election Commission said that the campaign could start on August 28 if the decree dissolving the Verkhovna Rada is published on August 27.
