Sir Jeremy Fleming has said that President Putin’s advisers didn’t tell him the truth about the situation in Ukraine. Similarly, the White House says it has information about tensions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his military leadership.
“Putin’s advisers are afraid to tell him the truth”, Fleming says.
“Earlier, US officials also suggested that he (Putin) had been misled about the military and economic situation in Russia and that the Kremlin and the Russian Defense Ministry had strained relations,” the statement said.
“If Putin still does not know the truth about what is happening, it could lead to further misconceptions, including over-optimism about whether Russia can achieve a military victory, which in turn сan continue the war and influence the negotiations”.
