“Sanctions target top Russian officials enforcing the illegal votes in 4 regions of Ukraine, as well as ‘Putin’s favourite PR agency’, sanctions also hit oligarchs with a global net worth totalling £6.3 billion and board executives from major state-owned banks.”

According to James Cleverly, these pseudo-referendums do not reflect the demonstrated will of the Ukrainian citizens and are a gross violation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, as well as its political independence.

“Today’s sanctions will target those behind these sham votes, as well as the individuals that continue to prop up the Russian regime’s war of aggression. We stand with the Ukrainian people and our support will continue as long as it takes to restore their sovereignty.”

In particular, Britain added to the sanctions lists 33 officials and collaborators who are in the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine: in particular, the head of the Government in Kherson Sergei Yeliseyev, the Minister of Education and Science of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic Ivan Kusov, the head of the “Government of Zaporizhzhia” Yevhen Balytskyi and the deputy head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Evgeniy Solntsev.

Also, the IMA Consulting agency is under sanctions, which is also called “Putin’s favorite PR agency” and was tasked with managing public campaigns to promote fake referendums.

“Goznak, a security documents company known for its monopoly on the production of tens of millions of state documents, including expedited passports in the temporarily controlled territories, has also been sanctioned.”

In addition, restrictions were imposed against 23 members of the board of directors and management of Gazprombank, 16 members of the Sberbank Supervisory Board, Executive Board, and other Directors, and 10 managers of Sovcombank.

According to the British government, it has so far imposed sanctions on more than 1,200 individuals and more than 120 entities from Russia, including more than 120 oligarchs, whose combined global wealth is estimated to exceed £130 billion.
