The foreign ministers of Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany will meet in Berlin today, on January 12.
This meeting takes place a few days before possible negotiations in the Normandy format in Astana, which will be attended by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
However, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini stated on January 8 in Riga that the high-level meeting in the Normandy format in order to resolve the crisis in Ukraine that will be hosted in Astana on January 15 had not yet been fully confirmed.
