“Electro Optic Systems (EOS) today announced that it has secured a conditional contract to supply Remote Weapon Systems (RWS) to Ukraine valued at up to US$80m (approximately ~A$120m),” reported the Australian company Electro Optic Systems.

EOS concluded an agreement with the Ukrainian state foreign trade enterprise SpetsTechnoExport (STE) for the supply to Ukraine of up to 100 heavy RWS systems, including spare parts and related services.

The agreement provides for delivery of the systems during 2023 and 2024, following the demonstration tests in the coming weeks.

A Remote Weapon System is installed on armored vehicles to allow military to identify targets, automatically track them and fire without leaving the vehicle.

“The RWS can be integrated on to various vehicles and platforms and used for a broad range of mission profiles, whilst ensuring full weapon readiness as the crew operates the system while protected within the vehicle,” added the Australian company Electro Optic Systems.
