Acting Director of Ukraine`s state-owned salt producer Artyomsol Volodymyr Dolia says that the enterprise plans to set up logistic centers in Europe to enter new markets and boost sales.
”We plan to open logistics centers in Ukraine and Europe. This will help solve a problem with delivering products from the producer to the consumer within the shortest possible term, bring our products closer to our end customers, increase the company`s profit by dropping intermediaries` services. The pilot project may soon be implemented in Kyiv. In addition, we are actively addressing the issue regarding the creation of our first wholesale and logistics center in Europe in summer of 2016,” Dolia said in a statement.
In March 2016, the company`s representatives already visited warehouses and production premises that will house the company`s logistics center. The center will deal with handling, storage and distribution of salt in areas adjacent to the Danube river ports in the Romanian city of Galati and the Bulgarian city of Ruse.
”The launch of the logistics center for marketing Ukrainian salt in Romania or Bulgaria will enable convenient and fast shipments of the product to European consumers. The optimization of transport logistics will enhance competitiveness of Artyomsol`s produce and help boost supplies to several European countries. It will also help enter new markets. Moreover, having a representative office in the EU will allow the company to participate in European tenders to provide salt procurement services,” the company said in its statement.
Last year, Artyomsol supplied 367,800 tonnes of salt to European consumers. In 2016, the company plans to increase its salt supplies by 15% to 425,300 tonnes.
