According to the representative of the authorities, as of July 3, about 220,000 Ukrainian citizens have submitted applications for compensation due to the housing destroyed by the Russians.

“As of today, the Russian occupiers have destroyed more than 15 million square meters of Ukrainian housing. The most damage to the housing stock was in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Chernihiv regions,” Shuliak said.

She also noted that the government is trying to restore the maximum number of houses before the start of the heating season. $1.4 billion was allocated from the reserve fund for this.

“First of all, transport connections, engineering networks are being repaired, security measures are being carried out. The funds are directed to those houses where doors can be quickly replaced, roofs repaired, and repairs made quickly,” the representative of the parliamentary committee emphasized.
