“One-fifth of the territory of Ukraine is contaminated with mines, shells, and aerial bombs that have not exploded. Since the beginning of the war, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have already discovered, removed and neutralized more than 180,000 explosive objects, and an area of more than 68,000 hectares was surveyed. And this work does not stop for a moment,” the official said.

According to the Minister, demining continues in the liberated territories.

“For example, the fighting in the Kyiv region (central Ukraine) lasted for about a month, and our pyrotechnicians have been clearing these areas of explosive objects for 5 months. For example, in the Kyiv region, they still defuse up to 1,000 explosive devices per day, and during this time they have defused more than 60,000 munitions, and this work continues,” Yenin said.
