5 countries are ready to provide Ukraine with tanks, – Ukraine’s Foreign Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba noted on January 13, 2023, that already five countries were ready to transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine. Two of them — Poland and Finland, have done it publicly, and three more are waiting for permission from Germany, as the producing country.

As an example, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine cited Finland, which declared its readiness to provide Ukraine with a batch of tanks, although a small one, given the threat from Russia.

According to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, in addition to Poland and Finland, three more countries have privately agreed to transfer Western Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, if Germany, as the producing country, agrees to this.

Dmytro Kuleba believes that Ukraine is “objectively half a step away from solving the topic of tanks.”

“France took the first step. It will provide Ukraine with AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks. Then the Poles. But the promise to transfer Leopard tanks is the second such step. It encouraged other countries to do the same,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
