At the railway station Horodyshche, Cherkasy region, 20 tanks of petroleum products derailed this morning, 11 of them took fire jointly with the locomotive. The train consisted of 35 tanks.
According to the press service of State Emergency Service, the accident occurred at 6:35 a.m.
Currently, gathering of the total fire and rescue service garrison is announced in Cherkasy region. In addition, Kirovograd region sent five fire and rescue units. A train was sent from the Myronivsky sector of the Odesa Railway.
An operational group of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy region works on the scene.
Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Serhiy Bochkovsky went to the scene to coordinate actions to eliminate fire and the effects of extreme events.
