1st KIA reported since ”silence regime” announced in Donbas

Ukraine`s Defense Ministry reported on the death of a Ukrainian soldier in the zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense for the ATO Oleksandr Motuzyanyk has said at a Kyiv briefing Saturday, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

”In the past day, one Ukrainian soldier was killed in action,” said Motuzyanyk.

”Another six of our soldiers were wounded,” added the official.

According to him, the militants continue to fire at positions of Ukrainian troops in almost all directions, but since the enemy uses no heavy weapons, a certain tendency to de-escalation persists.

”However, we cannot say that the `silence regime` is being observed,” said Motuzyanyk.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the ATO Headquarters of the ATO, Russian-occupation forces opened fire 30 times on positions of Ukrainian defenders over the past day, with heavy weapons not being fired.
