Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine noted on December 13, 2022, that new facts of sexual violence connected with the military aggression of the Russian Federation were established in the liberated territories of Ukraine. Joint mobile groups of prosecutors, international experts and psychologists work there.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale military aggression of the Russian Federation, prosecutors have recorded 154 facts of sexual violence. 6 servicemen of the Russian Federation have already been notified of suspicion. Indictments against 2 people have been sent to court, and one person has been convicted,” said the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
In the Kherson region, Russian servicemen raped a woman for 4 months. Another local woman has been systematically exposed and tortured since March 2022. In particular, she was poured with boiling water.
In addition, cases of gender-based violence were recorded, when the wives of Ukrainian soldiers who participated in the anti-terrorist operation or were related to the Armed Forces of Ukraine were taken from their families and tortured.
“Prosecutors discovered more than 30 cases of genital electric torture, which were applied to the local civilian population. In total, more than 100 facts of torture with the use of electric current against local men have been established,” emphasized the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
