The Security Service bodies detained 14 people in Donetsk, suspected of terrorism and belonging to the so-called “DPR” – “Donetsk People’s Republic.”
The press service of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Donetsk region informs.
“This August, the Security Service had arrested 14 people, who were notified of suspicion of committing crimes under Article 111 (high treason), Article 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization), Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” a statement reads.
Detained persons, men aged 20 to 60 years, were part of a terrorist organization “DPR” and its illegal paramilitary formations, i.e., the so-called battalion Vostok, SVD Berkut, Shchyt (Shield), People’s Militia of Donbas. Detention was imposed on them as a pre-trial restraint.
In addition, for committing treason, one of the law enforcement workers of Donetsk region was detained for providing assistance in the form of information on the course of the anti-terrorist operation to a citizen of Russia, who led a terrorist group in the region.
