War, not the expected peace arrived at the doorstep of Great Britain and France when they gave up Czechoslovakia to Hitler in 1938. War is happening right here at home and not in faraway Europe – the United States were harshly reminded about this at Pearl Harbor in 1942. War descended on Ukraine and thus is now much closer to Paris and Berlin, because Europe and the US haven’t supported Georgia in 2008. War showed up in the homes of Dutch, British, French, German, Australian families because Europe and the US weren’t courageous enough to lend a helping hand to Ukraine in 2014. It is impossible to run away from war and overwhelming aggression, it is impossible to buy yourself off. The war will catch up with you if you don’t stand up to it with utmost determination.
September 16 – Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the European Parliament have simultaneously ratified Ukraine-EU Association Agreement. This is a “historic opportunity” that Ukraine “paid for with blood” at Maidan and during Russian-Ukrainian War.
September 16 – Members of parliament adopted a Statement on the “European Choice of Ukraine”, which includes Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
September 16 – Contrary to the agreements signed by Russia on September 12th with the EU and Ukraine, Russia still intends to punish Ukraine, destroy its economy and introduce duties on Ukrainian goods. The European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht said that such a decision would force the EU to start implementing the economic part of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, previously delayed for year.
September 16 – Russian terrorists and military haven’t stopped shelling Kuibyshev and Kyiv districts of Donetsk from heavy artillery, – informed the spokesman for the National Security and Defense Council Andriy. This is “Russian-style ceasefire”. They say the shelling is done by the National Guards of Ukraine. Since ceasefire announcement on September 5th, the terrorists and Russian troops fired at Ukrainian military on 296 occasions.
September 16 -Illegal armed groups of so-called self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk and People’s Republic of Luhansk have announced the creation of “Allied Armed Forces”.
September 16 – Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has voted for a Law on purging all levels of power and vetting prospective officials.
