This is Ukraine today – September 9

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

War, not the expected peace arrived at the doorstep of Great Britain and France when they gave up Czechoslovakia to Hitler in 1938. War is happening right here at home and not in faraway Europe – the United States were harshly reminded about this at Pearl Harbor in 1942. War descended on Ukraine and thus is now much closer to Paris and Berlin, because Europe and the US haven’t supported Georgia in 2008. War showed up in the homes of Dutch, British, French, German, Australian families because Europe and the US weren’t courageous enough to lend a helping hand to Ukraine in 2014. It is impossible to run away from war and overwhelming aggression, it is impossible to buy yourself off. The war will catch up with you if you don’t stand up to it with utmost determination.

September 9 – Despite the ceasefire, Russian army and militants continue to fire at ATO units using “Grad” multiple rocket launchers, – informs the Head of the Centre for Military and Political Studies Dmytro Tymchuk

September 9 – Russia is quickly increasing its striking power on the border with Ukraine and in the temporarily occupied Crimea, – says the spokesman for the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Lysenko. 2 groups of vehicles (a total of 172 tracked vehicles, 30 armored vehicles, 200 trucks) are travelling towards Ukraine on the motorway from Rostov-on-Don to Novoasovsk since September 7th

September 9 – In Crimea, which was annexed by Russia, the police searched a boarding school in Bakhchisaray rayon. Crimean Tatar children were forced to take off national symbols of Ukraine. Refat Chubarov, the Chairman of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people believes that international observers must be involved to monitor the human rights situation in Crimea.

September 9 – Terrorist organization “People’s Republic of Donetsk” (PRD) would like to claim the entire territory of Donetsk oblast – it will not agree to a special status only for those areas, which it currently controls, – says the self-proclaimed “prime minister” of “PRD” Oleksandr Zakharchenko. I wonder why he doesn’t want to claim Ukraine in its entirety… On Monday the Advisor to the President of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko stated that about a third of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, currently not controlled by Ukrainian authorities, will receive a special status.

September 9 – Dutch experts are saying that while flying over Donetsk oblast, “Boeing 777” was hit by a “surface-to-air” missile, -this announcement was made by the Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak on Tuesday.
