Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions in Donbas 114 times in last day, 4 Ukrainian soldiers were killed

Russian troops increased their combat activity along the entire frontline, shelled day and night. They brought up additional artillery reserves which resulted in increased number of attacks from cannons and Grad multiple rocket launcher systems (Grad MRLS). 4 Ukrainian troops were killed, 19 troops were wounded, according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.

In the Donetsk sector, Russian troop fired from Grad MRLS (multiple rocket launcher systems) on the town of Avdiyivka. Frontline fighting in the vicinity of Avdiivka continued non-stop yesterday. Russian troops were massively using mortars, cannons and Grad multiple rocket launchers. The number of projectiles launched from heavy weapons at Avdiivka and Ukrainian flank positions reached 2000. Russian troops attacked also the villages of Pisky, Kamianka and Opytne, repeatedly used tanks, mortars of various calibers, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms during the day. The villages of Hranitne and Luhanske were attacked with the use of 122mm artillery systems. Russian troops fired mortars of different calibers on the town of Maryinka, and the villages of Luhanske, Novhorodske, Troyitske, Verkhniotoretske, Vodiane and Pisky. Russian troops continued attacking Butovka coal mine position, Opytne and Pisky. Spartak and Donetsk airport were swarming with Russian troops’ mortar crews, cannons, tanks and Grad MRLS that were taking turns to shell Ukrainian troops day and night. Russian troops were active at the Svitlodarsk bulge and near Horlivka where they deployed their artillery.

In the Mariupol sector, Russian troops launched full service charge from Grad MRLS (multiple launch rocket systems) at Starohnativka and Novohryhorivka. They shelled Grads rocket systems on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Shyrokyne, Novohryhorivka and Starohnatіvka. Russian troops fired 122mm artillery systems and 120mm and 82mm mortars on the towns of Krasnohorivka and Maryinka, and the villages of Vodiane, Bohdanivka, Hranitne, Shyrokyne, Opytne and Chermalyk. Russian troops fired rocket-propelled grenades, anti-aircraft guns and small arms on the villages of Berezove, Pavlopil, Hnutove and Vodiane. Furthermore, Chermalyk was attacked with the use of anti-tank systems. Russian troops’ snipers were also active near Mariinka and Pavlopil. A woman sustained shrapnel wounds in Mariinka, and 4 houses were damaged in shooting attack. The town has been cut off the electricity supply. Moreover, 2 border guard modules were damaged at a checkpoint. In total, Russian troops made 72 attacks in the Luhansk sector yesterday.

In the Luhansk sector, Russian troops’ attacks were the most intense in Popasna district. Russian troops opened fire from 152mm artillery systems on the village of Novozvanivka, mortars on the villages of Krymske and Syze, and rocket-propelled grenades and small arms on the villages of Novozvanivka and Novo-Oleksandrivka. Russian troops were using mortar launchers and artillery launching at least 50 shells at Ukrainian positions. Russian troops conducted mortar attacks in Syze (Stanytsia Luhanska district) and Krymske (Novyi Aidar district). In total, Russian troops made 15 attacks in the Luhansk sector yesterday, 8 of them involved use of heavy armor
