“The Sejm decided that the Russian Federation’s armed attack on Ukraine is an act of aggression which, due to its nature, seriousness and scale, constitutes a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and a crime of aggression,” said the text of the resolution.

In the resolution, the deputies emphasized that the prosecution of persons who committed crimes in Ukraine and against Ukraine is necessary in order to show that “international law does not allow for impunity, and that individual criminal liability can also be borne by state leaders.”

“Therefore, the Sejm supports actions aimed at punishing the perpetrators and initiatives in this area, such as the establishment of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and the establishment of the International Center for the Prosecution of Crimes of Aggression against Ukraine, which will deal with the proper securing of evidence,” the deputies of the Polish Sejm noted in the resolution.
