“Russia is deliberately hitting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. We are working with Ukraine to restore electricity, repairing and restoring damaged infrastructure, and developing renewable energy. Now we deliver: a first batch of 5 700 solar panels will be sent to Ukraine soon. ENEL (Energy Company from Italy. – Ed.) donates 5,700 panels to Ukraine. The solar panels are produced in Europe, in Catania, with the support of the European Innovation Fund,” reported the President of the European Commission.

According to Ursula von der Leyen, the panels can cover 11,000 square meters of roofs of public buildings, as well as providing electricity to schools, hospitals and fire stations.

“I am convinced that other European companies, as well as member states, will be inspired by this first step. So that Ukraine can rely on clean electricity produced at home,” concluded the President of the European Commission.
