First Polish Leopard 2 tanks have been delivered to Ukraine

The Minister of Defense of Poland Mariusz Błaszczak noted on February 24, 2023, that Poland has already delivered the first four Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

“Today, Polish Leopard tanks have already arrived in Ukraine,” noted the Minister of Defense of Poland.

Mariusz Błaszczak added that at the same time, Ukrainian military personnel are studying at the Polish training center in Świętoszów (southwest Poland) under the leadership of Polish, Canadian and Norwegian instructors.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed that the first Leopard tanks are already in Ukraine.

“We have received the first tanks from Poland, they will strengthen our defenses; Poland is the leader of the international coalition on this issue. I thank the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki,” said the President of Ukraine at a joint conference with Mateusz Morawiecki in Kyiv.

In total, Poland will transfer a company of Leopard 2 tanks (14 tanks) to Ukraine. 105 Ukrainian military personnel, who are training at the Świętoszów training ground, arrived in Poland to master Leopard 2 tanks. It is about 21 tank crews, as well as technical personnel of tank maintenance.
