The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) Ruslan Stefanchuk noted on January 31, 2023, on Facebook, that he had a meeting with the Prime Minister of the French Republic Elisabeth Borne, they discussed the mechanisms of creating an international special tribunal for Russia.

“To say “thank you” to France and call to stay with Ukraine in the future. These are the two key messages that I voice during every meeting, in particular, during a conversation with the Prime Minister of the French Republic, Elisabeth Borne,” wrote Ruslan Stefanchuk.
During the conversation with Elisabeth Borne, Ruslan Stefanchuk pointed out the importance of recognizing Russia as a terrorist country. In addition, the interlocutors discussed defense support for Ukraine.
“We aspire to restore Ukraine’s borders by 1991, so I see no objection to the provision of modern weapons. We need them to regain our territories,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized.
Ruslan Stefanchuk also emphasized the need for a special tribunal for Russia.
“The specifics and mechanisms of its creation were discussed in detail,” Ruslan Stefanchuk informed.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized that Ukraine aspires to be a full member of the EU.
“Today I heard that France supports this perspective, as well as supports Ukraine’s candidacy for membership in the European Union,” summed up the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.
Ruslan Stefanchuk is on an official visit to France from January 30 to February 2, 2023.
