The Head of the Department of Organizational Analytical Support and Operational Response of the National Police of Ukraine noted on December 29, 2022, that Ukrainian police had found 1,116 bodies of killed Ukrainian civilians in the Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Kherson and Kharkiv regions since the beginning of de-occupation measures.

“The bodies of 1,116 civilians have been discovered, including 31 bodies of children in Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine since the beginning of de-occupation measures. The bodies of three people were found yesterday [on December 28 – ed.] in the Kherson region,” informed the Head of the Department of Organizational Analytical Support and Operational Response of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to Oleksiy Sergeev, investigators have documented 5,398 war crimes in the liberated from Russian troops areas. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the police have opened more than 53,700 criminal proceedings on the facts of the commission of criminal offenses by servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces and their accomplices.
The largest number of proceedings – 42, 000 were initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war).
