The heads of defense departments discussed issues of further cooperation, in particular, a new aid package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“I received the Minister of Defense of Spain Margarita Robles in Odesa [a city in the south of Ukraine – ed.]. We honored the memory of the heroes who died fighting for Ukraine and visited our soldiers in the hospital. Spain supports Ukraine: humanitarian and security assistance will continue. More Ukrainian soldiers will train in Spain. Spain has already provided Ukraine with the first “Hawk” systems,” said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Uaposition memo: The “Hawk” air defense system was developed in the USA, it has an average operational range and is used to destroy aircraft, and in later modifications, also to intercept missiles.
