Among those who abstained are China, India, Pakistan, South Africa and almost all CIS countries.
The document, which was co-authored by almost 70 countries, in addition to condemning the so-called referendums, contains a call to states, international organizations and specialized UN agencies not to recognize any changes in the status of the regions of Ukraine, as well as a demand for Russia to cancel the annexation and withdraw all its troops from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

The vast majority of the organization’s members – even larger than when condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine in March – condemned the illegal actions of the Russian Federation concerning the annexation of Ukrainian territories.
Immediately after the announcement of the voting results, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, thanked all the countries that supported the resolution.
“Grateful to 143 states that supported historic UNGA resolution “Territorial integrity of Ukraine: defending the principles of the UN Charter”. The world had its say – RF’s attempt at annexation is worthless & will never be recognized by free nations. Ukraine will return all its lands,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter.
