The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhii Haidai noted that while the Ukrainian military continued to advance in the Luhansk region, Russian troops were trying to quickly build a multi-layered defense system as of October 12, 2022.

“Ukrainian troops are moving forward, and the Russian troops are trying to build a multi-layer defense line very rapidly. They are building structures in various cities and actively mining the entire first section of the front line. This applies not only to roads but also to administrative buildings.”
The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration added that a certain number of mobilized Russians who come to the Luhansk region have some combat experience or have served. This category is thrown on the first line.
According to Serhii Haidai, some Russian soldiers are hiding in private houses in order to either spend the night there or later surrender and go home to the Russian Federation.
