The Head of the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine (2017–2021) said on October 4, 2022, that it was difficult to predict the actions of Russian troops because they even allowed the detonation of mines on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in the south of Ukraine.

Russian military mined two power units at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. They placed explosives on the first and second power units of the ZNPP.
Hryhorii Plachkov emphasized that Russia wanted the Zaporizhzhia NPP to work for the needs of the occupied Crimea.
“The only thing that can be predicted is that they [Russian troops – ed.] are trying to do everything that the ZNPP works for the needs of Crimea or the unified system of Russia,” summed up the Head of the State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine (2017–2021).
It should be noted that this is not the first time when Russian soldiers resort to nuclear terrorism at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
