According to the National Police, Russian occupiers shelled 11 settlements of the Donetsk region (east of Ukraine) on August 16, 2022. There are injured and dead among civilians. Police officers documented war crimes.

The Russian army used artillery, tanks, “Uragan” anti-aircraft missile defense system, mortars, rockets, and launched an air strike with an unguided air missile. There are injured and dead among the civilian population.
“Russia struck Avdiyivka, Bakhmut, Toretsk, Kurakhove, Zaitseve, village Karlivka, village of Bylbasivka, village Pivdenne, village Novomykhailivka, village Kostyantynivka, Kurakhivka village.”
As a result of strikes, 17 objects were destroyed and damaged – 13 residential buildings, outbuildings, and garages. Policemen worked at the landing sites and collected evidence of Russian war crimes. The police and Security Service of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
