“We already know from the media that there have been positive reactions from Denmark and Lithuania. Today I can say that other member states have expressed their approval, but they also expect some support and a common voice from NATO. We also emphasize that it should be a NATO mission,” Morawiecki said, answering questions about the perception of the idea of a peacekeeping mission.
“For those who are skeptical, as they were in the European Council, I would like them to imagine that the whole Ukraine is becoming Mariupol, a bombed-out place where people are fleeing. You will have to accept tens of millions of refugees.”
“I think that today, looking at the barbaric behavior of Putin and Russians, Russian soldiers, we can imagine worse scenarios. Unfortunately, I can imagine worse scenarios, so the presentation of this concept is finding more and more fertile ground,” said the Prime Minister of Poland.
Earlier, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg reportedly stated that the Alliance did not intend to send troops to Ukraine.
