Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has become the leader of the People’s Front Party.
His candidacy was unanimously supported at the first stage of an extraordinary party congress, which took place on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
The congress was opened by Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov. It was attended by about 490 participants.
The meeting started with a minute of silence for the Heavenly Hundred heroes and the heroes of Ukraine who defended the states with weapons in hands.
