Yanukovych regime oil and gas company deprived of permits

The Kyiv Administrative Court of Appeal has allowed the appeal of the State Service for Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine depriving the Golden Derrick LLC, associated with former Yanukovych government officials, of 19 special permits for oil and gas production.
This has been announced by the press service of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry of Ukraine, citing minister Ihor Shevchenko.
“On basis of a series of violations of the law and the terms of use of special permits, State Service for Geology and Mineral Resources reversed the decision allowing the Golden Derrick to produce oil and gas. Of course, we should wait for the written version of the judgment, but we can already say that we have managed to achieve substantial progress in protecting the interests of the state,” Shevchenko said.
He added that this was not the first victory in the court and now the lawyers were focused on getting back to the state property the assets, which had been moved out by the previous government, and revoking the licenses and special permits, issued in violation of the law and interests of the state.
67% of the Golden Derrick belongs to the Cypriot company Hartlog Limited, which is associated with the former ministers of the government of Mykola Azarov – Eduard Stavytsky and Mykola Prysiazhniuk and former MP from the Party of Regions Yuri Ivaniushchenko.
