The EU-Ukraine Association Agreement will provide a blueprint for Ukraine’s transformation into a prosperous European democracy.
Such a joint statement was made by European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso in connection with the ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, Ukrinform’s correspondent in Brussels reported.
“The Association Agreement will provide a blueprint for Ukraine’s transformation into a modern and prosperous European democracy,” the EU leaders said.
They said that ratification was an important step towards Ukraine’s political association and economic integration with the EU.
As reported, on September 16, the European Parliament and the Verkhovna Rada simultaneously ratified the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
