The State Agency of Automobile Roads (Ukravtodor) has announced a tender to select a company that will be tasked with independent inspection of the quality of road repairs in Ukraine.
The expected cost of services for the supervision of road construction, as well as services of technical testing and analysis of work performed is estimated at UAH 20 million including VAT, according to an Ukravtodor tender announcement posted on the Smarttender.biz tendering platform, which is part of the ProZorro electronic public procurements system.
The tender is scheduled for August 19, and bids will be accepted until July 14.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine`s Infrastructure Ministry in 2015 launched decentralization of the road management system, which involves the transfer of local roads to management by local governments. In addition, Ukravtodor will be only authorized to act as the customer under road construction orders, without being able to perform executor and controller functions.
According to Ukravtodor, at least UAH 60 billion is needed every year for building and repairing roads in Ukraine. At this, over 90% of Ukrainian roads require overhauls or reconstruction.
