Ukrainian military clash with militant sabotage group near Horlivka

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 35 times in the past 24 hours, including 19 times in the Mariupol sector, 13 times in the Donetsk sector, and thrice in the Luhansk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) headquarters.
In the Luhansk sector, the enemy fired from infantry fighting vehicles, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers on the defenders of the village of Stanytsia Luhanska, as well as a ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft system near the village of Novozvanivka.
The situation was tense in the Donetsk sector near the town of Avdiyivka and the villages of Opytne, Pisky, Maiorsk, Myronivske, Luhanske, and Butivka coal mine, where in addition to small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers, the Russian-backed mercenaries fired mortars of various types on the Ukrainian fortified positions. They also launched 40 shells from the self-propelled artillery system near the village of Yasnobrodivka.
”At about 21:30 Kyiv time, an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group of up to 10 people made an attempt to pass along the railway near the station of Maiorsk (near Horlivka), but it came across an observation post. Our soldiers opened fire. Under the fire from a 120mm mortar, the saboteurs retreated,” the press center said.
In the Mariupol sector, the enemy fired mortars on the Ukrainian units near the village of Pavlopil, as well as near the town of Krasnohorivka thrice in the last day. The militants also fired small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems on the Ukrainian positions near the towns of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Novotroyitske, Shyrokyne and Lebedynske.
In some cases, the Ukrainian troops were forced to return fire.
