Ukraine to join world customs data exchange system

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFSU) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) have agreed on Ukraine joining the international electronic data exchange system between customs agencies, according to the Ukrainian agency`s press service.
”We`ve agreed that the SFSU and the WCO will sign a document that will provide Ukraine access to the National Customs Enforcement Network, a system designed to collect, store and exchange law enforcement information at the national, regional and international levels,” the SFSU quoted its chief, Roman Nasirov, as saying.
”The WCO will, therefore, provide a platform for data exchange between the world`s customs agencies,” he added.
UNIAN memo. The WCO was founded in 1952. Its major mission is to streamline and improve the administration of customs procedures and develop customs technologies to promote the security and facilitation of international trade, including simplification and harmonization of customs procedures.
