Ukraine`s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has dismissed Mykolaiv region prosecutor Viacheslav Kryvoviaz, the press service of the Prosecutor General`s Office of Ukraine (PGO) reported.
”Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko has dismissed Mykolaiv region prosecutor Viacheslav Kryvoviaz having issued the relevant order dated June 24, 2016,” a statement reads.
It is reported that Lutsenko has also initiated an internal investigation in connection with unlawful actions of the Mykolaiv region prosecutor.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on June 22, former First Deputy Chairman of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Mykola Romanchuk was released from Odesa detention facility on a UAH 5.5 million bail.
On June 8, the Odesa district court held a hearing to select pre-trial restrictions for Romanchuk. The court imposed pre-trial detention for two months with the right to bail in the amount of UAH 5.5 million. Romanchuk has been suspected of accepting a $90,000 bribe. Law enforcement officers also found a network of tunnels where safe boxes belonging to Romanchuk were revealed, which contained antiques and jewelry.
