Tymoshenko: Putin has three goals now

The Minsk agreements on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine’s east is only an illusion of peaceful intentions of the Kremlin.
Ex-Prime Minister, leader of the All-Ukrainian Association Batkivshchyna Yulia Tymoshenko told on air of the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV on Monday.
Putin, according to Tymoshenko, has three goals. First – he should demonstrate to the Western world that there is an illusion of the truce here. What he will receive from this – termination of increasing sanctions from the Western world … Indeed, the EU and the United States stopped entering the next level of sanctions today.
“After the Minsk protocols were signed, the United States after a visit of our President said that since the truce is reached, there is no need to make Ukraine the main partner of the U.S. outside NATO… He (Putin – Ed.) stopped a process of supplying high-precision and highly needed weapons to Ukraine,” Tymoshenko suggested.
Third, the Kremlin achieved “demobilization of the Ukrainian defense,” weakened the Kyiv policy on modernization of the Ukrainian Army and rearmament.
