Turkey becomes hottest destination for Russians just 24 hrs after tourism ban lift

July 1, the day after the Russian Government lifted the ban on selling tours to Turkey, this country has become the most popular choice of requests at Yandex.Travel online service which aggregates deals from tour operators, according to RBC.
Over three days, from June 29 to July 1, the number of Russians` requests for tours to Turkey quadrupled, RBC reports citing Yandex officials.
At the same time, the interest in such destinations as Crimea and Sochi dropped threefold.
At the moment, the amount of requests for Turkey outnumbers those for all major Russian resorts by three times.
Over half of the day, the number of offers for tours in Turkey at Yandex.Travel has grown from 200 to more than 500. In the latest summer season, before the ban, there were about a thousand offers.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed a decree lifting a ban on the sale of tours to Turkey. It was introduced after the November 2015 incident when the Turkish air force downed a Russian Su-24 bomber near the Turkish- Syrian border.
