Toretsk mayor arrested for 60 days, cannot get bail

Kramatorsk town court has granted the request of the prosecutor`s office and arrested Volodymyr Sliptsov, mayor of the town of Toretsk, for 60 days, according to Novosti Donbasa.

The court fully satisfied the petition of the prosecutor`s office.

The article, under which Sliptsov has been arrested, does not provide for the right to bail.

Sliptsov`s lawyers said they will appeal because the suspect cannot stay in jail for health reasons.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 17, Donetsk region prosecutor Yevhen Bondarenko officially informed Sliptsov that he was suspected of being involved in the infringement of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and being part of a terrorist organization.
