Some 15 Memebers of Parliament in focus of Ukraine police in case against Yanukovych gang

Criminal proceedings into setting up a criminal organization by disgraced former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych include some materials on at least 15 people`s deputies, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said on air of 112 Ukraine TV Channel, adding that his office had not yet tabled in parliament the requests on bringing the deputies to justice.

”I`m not an adept of early announcements regarding such appeals to the Verkhovna Rada. The investigation is ongoing. As soon as we have enough facts, there will be such appeals. Now we are working on the cases, involving a lot of people`s deputies. At least 15 of them. But this does not mean that I can submit appeals as early as tomorrow,” he said.

According to Lutsenko, at the moment, there is only sufficient evidence collected in respect of MP Vadym Novinsky (Opposition Bloc).

”According to our version, he is an accomplice in Yanukovych crimes, who wanted to gain control over the religious organization – namely, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” Lutsenko said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the PGO November 4 tabled in the Verkhovna Rada an appeal to grant consent to bring to justice People`s Deputy Vadym Novinsky.
