Situation in Donbas controlled – Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the situation in eastern Ukraine is sufficiently controlled, and there is no reason to panic.
He said this before opening a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“To be honest, the situation is certainly very difficult and nobody is going to simplify it, but it is sufficiently controlled so as not to yield to panic and keep common sense,” Poroshenko said.
He said that the destabilization of the situation and panic were also a weapon of Ukraine’s enemy.
“We have just had a meeting – the leadership of the country and the chief of the General Staff reported to me on our further steps. I approved it, and at a closed part of the National Security and Defense Council we will discuss a clear and consistent plan of our actions for the near future,” he said.
Poroshenko also stressed the importance of supporting Ukraine in the whole world. In particular, an extraordinary session of the OSCE and a UN Security Council meeting are to be held on Ukraine’s initiative.
