Secretary General of Council of Europe supports strategy of Poroshenko’s reform

Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland expressed support for the strategy of reforms in Ukraine, announced recently by President Petro Poroshenko.
Spokesman of the Secretary General Daniel Holtgen told a Ukrinform correspondent about this. .
Jagland said that the Council of Europe and his Special Adviser on Ukraine declare full support for the announced reforms. According to him, among Poroshenko’s priorities there are changes in the areas that the Council of Europe considers indispensable for many years,
According to him, the reform of the judiciary, fighting corruption, decentralization and a reform of the law enforcement agencies must be made quickly. According to the Secretary General, implementation of changes and parallel implementation of the constitutional reform will consolidate the current progress of Ukraine.
Recall, September 25, Petro Poroshenko presented the Strategy 2020 in Kyiv, which aims to build a country that will meet all modern requirements. Administration of the President intends to hold a public discussion of the Strategy 2020. A list of priority reforms and key indicators of the countgry’s successful development will be presented at the discussion. .
Discussions will be held in the framework of the National Council of Reforms, chaired by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Council of Reforms Dmytro Shymkiv. Participating in the discussion will be representatives of NGOs, experts, scientists, representatives of business associations and the media.
