Russian troops increase number of attacks on Ukraine to 61 times in last day

Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 61 times in the past 24 hours, including 23 in the Mariupol sector, 29 barrages in the Luhansk sector, and nine in the Donetsk sector, according to the press center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In the Luhansk sector, the enemy fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Novo-Oleksandrivka, Krymske, Bohuslavske, Novozvanivka and Orikhove. The militants also used 122mm tube artillery systems in the town of Popasna.

In the Mariupol sector, the occupiers fired heavy machine guns, grenade launchers and small arms on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Hranitne, Novotroyitske, Pavlopil and Talakivka, as well as mortars and 122mm tube artillery systems on the town of Maryinka. They also fired 152mm artillery systems on the villages of Vodiane and Lebedynskey. Enemy snipers were active in the village of Shyrokyne and the town of Krasnohorivka. Besides, the enemy used 120mm mortars, machine guns, and small arms in the area.

In the Donetsk sector, Russia`s hybrid military force opened fire from small arms, machine guns and grenade launchers in the villages of Druzhkivka, Zaitseve and Novhorodske, 82mm mortars in the villages of Luhanske and Verkhniotoretske, as well as 120mm mortars and artillery systems in the village of Troyitske.
