Russian special services planned to hijack military aircraft in Mykolaiv – SBU

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained a resident of Mykolaiv recruited by the Russian special services who had to get into contact with a military pilot and persuade him into hijacking a plane from the Kulbakyne airport.
SBU spokesperson Olena Hitlianska said this at a briefing on Wednesday.
“The Russian special forces tasked him with establishing contact with Ukrainian Air Force servicemen from the Kulbakyne airport in Mykolaiv. First of all, we are talking about military pilots involved in the anti-terrorist operation. And he had to persuade them to commit a crime by promising a reward of $300,000, housing and Russian citizenship,” she said.
She said that the traitor had been detained when he tried to get secret documents in the sphere of defense. During the detention he had a grenade, a map of the military airport, as well as records of military facilities in Mykolaiv region.
