The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 25 times in the past 24 hours, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
The worst situation was in the Donetsk sector, where the militants attacked ATO positions near the town of Avdiyivka and Butivka coal mine 14 times, firing heavy machine guns, grenade launchers of various systems, and 82mm and 120mm mortars, and small arms, the ATO HQ said in an update as of 06:00 Kyiv time on May 30.
The enemy also used small arms, heavy machine guns and automatic grenade launchers to shell areas near the villages of Luhanske and Novhorodske.
In the Mariupol sector, the occupiers fired heavy machine guns, mortars and 82mm and 120mm mortars on ATO forces near the villages of Shyrokyne, Hnutove, Pavlopil, and Kominternove.
What is more, the Russian-backed mercenaries used small arms, heavy machine guns and automatic grenade launchers to shell the Ukrainian fortified positions near the town of Dokuchaievsk and the village of Berezove last night.
However, it was rather quiet in the Luhansk sector over the period under review.
