Remotely controlled improvised device causes blast on Monday in Kharkiv – the prosecutor’s office

A remotely controlled improvised device detonated near the building of Moskovsky district court in Kharkiv in the evening of January 19.
The spokesman for the prosecutor’s office in Kharkiv region Vita Dubovyk told the news to Ukrinform.
“The remotely controlled improvised device was detonated. The experts who worked at the scene made the conclusion,” Dubovyk said.
According to her, the device was planted under the advertising billboard.
“It was filled with metal fragments indicating the perpetrators’ intention to hurt many people,” she said.
115 persons gave their statements in the framework of criminal proceedings on the explosion. As Ukrinform previously reported, 14 people sustained injuries in the evening of January 19 due to the blast in Moskovsky district court in Kharkiv, according to latest information. Kharkiv hospitals received 12 of them, including eight persons put in a city hospital emergency room. Doctors removed metal nuts used as a means of tissue damage from victims’ wounds. The health condition of the victims is stable; there is no threat to their lives.
