Rada may revise Ukraine’s non-aligned status this week

People’s deputies may consider refusal of Ukraine’s non-aligned status this week.
Leader of the Batkivshchyna party Serhiy Sobolev told a briefing at Verkhovna Rada, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In fact, a draft law by our counterpart Borys Tarasiuk was registered four months ago, which actually provides for the return to the state that existed before 2010, when at the urging of Yanukovych, the Party of Regions and the Communists, we changed the relevant article of the law … And within this framework, we propose to refuse the non-aligned status, moreover, the Batkivshchyna party initiates immediately the whole application procedure for joining NATO,” Sobolev said.
At the same time, he added that the draft law is not yet on the agenda.
“We filed it, but the bill has not been included yet. But I hope that we shall include it in the agenda,” Sobolev said.
